Fostering confidence and self-awareness among Aspen’s women

Carry Yourself with Confidence (“the Carrie Project”), was launched in 2017 by the Aspen Women’s Forum Development Committee at our Gqeberha site in South Africa. This transformative training programme was designed to empower women by fostering confidence and self-awareness.

In 2024 it was replicated at the East London site with the benefit extended to 8 women currently enrolled in the course, with an annual intake scheduled to proceed in line with the successful rollout at the Gqeberha site.

The Carrie Project is facilitated by a blend of dynamic external and internal facilitators, and the programme aims to cultivate well-rounded women while also encouraging them to thrive professionally and personally.

The programme helps women identify and leverage their unique strengths by focusing on self-discovery and skills development, with the end goal of enhancing the participant’s confidence and overall effectiveness.

The Project is hosted annually and comprises nine monthly sessions. Topics covered through the programme include the likes of developing a positive mind set, self-motivation, goal setting, leadership success strategies, work-life balance, connecting and communicating with confidence, and more.

Since inception more than 50 candidates have participated in the programme and all have remarked on its benefits as they strive to enhance their corporate and personal lives while also uplifting women in the workplace and giving back to their communities.

This initiative reflects Aspen’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity and invests in the development of our employees.
